Indeedy just checked my marks and i guess you could say it was well worth the wait. I did amazingly better than i had really anticipated so i feel kind of relieved knowing i’m doing some stuff right and the fact that i am doing well in this and still passing maths makes me feel even better (bio is another matter). Woohoo!

ok enough of the self praise, i am also happy to announce that i have managed to create my imagemap for minisite 3. I think it’s pretty cool since as you rollover the brain pic different sections light up with info about the links you can click to. It took me the better part of a day but well worth it. Thanks Kristina for the tutorial, gotta love that beatles picture.

 Also i have created 3 themed headers for the 3 different applications within the “Wave” program (music, text and games). But since they use colour i’m not too sure i they will fit in with the rest of the website design. And i don’t really want to change the web theme as the colour used was meant to be fairl neutral and sorta science as the program is fairly scientific even if it has some fun advantages.

Also kevin gave me the idea of maybe when people click on the image map, instead of being directed to the site with the nav bar, a box could open ontop of the image map with the info and then you could easily close it and click for another section (much like a light window/box). I don’t mind this idea except it would limit the amount of information i could depict on a page and would mean if i wanted to include alot of info i would need to have scrolling, and i;m not a big fan of the scroll bar.

ALSO i need to fix the scaling of my site. I don’t know why when i scale it it overlaps the nav bar. But since minisite 2 doesn’t do that i could probably figure it out.

ok, so i know i said i’d do my website, but i realised that it’s not even due on friday. This whole week i was thinking it was due, and because i went to this nerd convention i never got round to re writing the code. luckily Julia told me i had my dates mixed up. So not only am ni presenting next week, i am also submitting my site. But you will be glad to know i have started writing some content to help make the website more believable.

I;m also currently working on my frontpage where it will have a pic of the brain and when scrolled over it lights up and is a link to diff sections of my site. It seems kind of ambitious at the moment but i am slowly getting there.

Many apolagies for my last rant, but indeed blogging is a great way to vent rage. I mean i would never have used that many expletives in real life so this makes me feel a little better. Just checked out the presentation list and yay! i am second last! leaving the wacky to the end how interesting. But yeh i am going to spend this week fixing my site with help form Kevin. Thankyou very much kevin for putting up with my crazy rants and for helping my with fixing my code. Oh yeh, Drew the prototypes are on my Prototypes page you click the play buttons(hopefully that works at least).

But i have some very interesting plans for my final website, but it involves having to go over all Justins lectures caus what i want to do is very much so based on the stuff he taught us but i somehow managed to half sleep through. So silly of me. But yeah hopefully if all works out it will be brilliant.

As you might now website 2 was due today and i am so freaking annoyed! my site sucks, all the changes that i needed to make didn’t validate. But not only that. some stuff that works in IE doesn’t work in firefox. This annoys me because i only realised 5 minutes before 12 and then bloody ftp transfer thing dies on me! So you know what i amnot bloody happy at all! i don’t think i have been this annoyed since…actually i’ve never been this bloody annoyed. I definitely have gotten a real reality check though, maybe i shouldn’t be doing this course because code is stupid!

 If only this semester was like last semester, it would be so much easier and more fun. And fyi, the iphone is just a materialistic object which will eventually create massive landfills around the earth. Indeed i am feeling very bitter about this. But on to  the next hell project, oh wait i mean next minisite.

I am so dead on the inside right now. Damn you website! i will have my revenge, you and an ur blinking buttons and non working things.

But good side is i at least uploaded all y info, hopefully that will get me some marks.

I have an uploaded prototype. I am pretty proud of it even though it’s pretty crappy flash.  It’s only one prototype though so i have 2 more to make.

The first prototype just briefly describes what happens when you use the wave to text part of the application. So right now i am working on how each wave crest and troph (rise and fall of the wave) depending in height and depth triggers different sounds and notes.

Once recorded you have the option of mixing it around or keeping it the same. Ultimately you just use is as a ringtone or as something cool to send to your friends. It’s a fairly experimental thing as you can think anything and do anything.

i know i haven’t blogged much, but i have been extremely busy with other course assignments. So basically what i have done since last time is, created a minisite which is different to my normal student homepage.

my pages are no longer “tentatively” validated but “validated” completely

And i have once again changed my idea but after getting feedback broadened the user group and created more uses for the application. Still unsure about how exactly i will test some things as it’s pretty unlike anything before which makes it difficult.

but tomorrow i just have to upload all my new content about the idea and then create a quick prototype sorta describing the pricesses involved.

Today was very important day, and no not because Suna finally got her Justin Timberlake tickets but because of recent developments for my iphone application. 

As you can probably tell from my previous blog, today was presentation day indeed. There are so many good designs which push the boundaries and uses of the iphone. This inturn has made me really question my iphone application. I realise what i propose really isn’t that new and not that interesting. Solid but it doesn’t interest me very much. And if i am going to spend a semester developing something, i would prefer something i am really interested in. 

I want to explore a completely different application based on an idea which was initially a joke to stir people but now seems like a really interesting possibility. The idea i speak of is telepathy. But more realistically the use of brainwaves and sensors which detect these and translate them into words, letters, emotions and actions. Brainwave technology has had some major breakthroughs proving what many even myself thought was far fetched and extremely sci-fish to a tool which could improve communication and the way we interact with devices. 

There is a large market for this type of application ranging from the disabled who cannot communicate effectiveyl but still have acute brain reactivity to stiumli, to children suffering from ADD, as it creates something which needs constant focus in order to achieve a certain goal but also create a means of communication straight from the brain by passing the need for speech or hand gesture.

So the brainwaves project is in the works but if all goes horribly wrong, well i still have biometrics to fall back on.

Also i fixed up my blog a bit more using what i learned yesterday about style sheets. I managed to add 3 more links to minisites which i have not added content onto. I also have a like menu of links which makes navigation much easier.
