Well noy really news but yeh i found this and i find it amusing.

 

it has finally returned! so freaking happy! but bio exam was horrible. Got my first look of my site after completing it, it’s not bad i guess. Some other people have some wonderful sites, very envious of them lol. OK that’s all. I kind alike blogging

ok so a few more hours left and there is so much more i can do but the site can do without. I am really annoyed that i haven’t had internet at home caus i know my site could hvae been so much better as i could have spent more time on it. But ah well, it’s done now.

So since my last blog i have probably had two strokes because of this website, i realised it doesn’t scale well when you minimise the site. I thought it would be very problematic so i spent maybe about 2 hours of pain trying to fix it. My code is a big mess now and yeh i suck at code haha which is not good since i;m going on to do programming next yr. (if i don’t drop out that is, caus right now i am sick of science and tech and the likeliness of getting into DesComp isn’t likely).

 BUT on the upside i am pretty proud of my wavemusic minisite. If i had the time i would have made the audio clip to go with it but then i don’t have alot more time and it would then outshine my other prototypes.

Hoping for a decent mark (hint hint Rob) but i know i can only get what i deserve. So come what may.

Off to see what i can improve.

ok having no internet is afrealing pain, everytime i come to uni i have no time to blog because i;m catching up on allthis website stuff. So this will me a massive update thing.

firstly minisite 3 has been changed. The layout is different, i’ve added a tab bar on the top for easy acces and it looks more proffesional than the links in the side nav bar that u can see in minisite 1 and 2.

Secondly the homepage is now a pic of the three applications. When u click them u are taken to their main pages, of course u can access the pagesthourgh the tabs as well. This is because people may not want to have to keep going back to the homepage to click on the pics.

I have also added light window for the neurosky pages so you aren’t redirected. Because i know i hate being taken to another page and having to click back all the time. And as i was making my site i realised that i wanted somewhere where people can have their say so the forum was born. I added an FAQ so i didn’t need another tab just for it.

And yep that’s it so far.

Ok so yes i had a presentation way back last week and it went pretty well. I think most people understand the concept of the brainwave technology. Kinda amazed that Kristian didn’t ask me super weird and crazy questions (thank god!) But i liked the questions Kristina and harrison asked as they allowed me to address stuff i was thinking about but never really wrote down.

As i write this Suna is forcing me to tell everyone how i think her presentation was absolutely amazing. It kinda was since she made it through the entire presentation without breaking down into fits of hysteria. Julias Ipimp presentataion was very very entertaining and she pretty much sold her game idea to the majority of the male population in the room. Because we all know that all boys want to be pimps it’s like wanting to be a fireman lol

 ok ANYWAYS the reason I haven’t blogged in soooo long is because on friday the darn lighting hit a powerbox at the bottom of our street causing a black out on the entire block. SOOOOOOOO till this day i have no internet and have been forced to travel to and fvrom uni during stuvac so i can complete my site. Troublesome indeed, especially since i have EXAMS TO STUDY FOR!!!! I hate Optus.

Blog of course!

Ok so i didn’t get round to typing up my evaqluations on ppls presentations but i assure you i have written stuff. Pretty much all today i was fixing my website. Changing headings and trying to get lightwindow to work. But it hates me. David and Drew have attepted to tame the evil monstrous lightwindow but to no avail. So i pretty much have a cool image map colourful headers but broken links *sigh* hw troublesome.

And tonight i have been preparing for my presentation in which i hope no one turns up to. I like my idea and all but i can tell tomorrow it will be ripped to shreds. (just hope Adam isn’t there to ask particularly tricky questions, or anyone else for that matter). sheesh i hate presentations. Well slides are done, trying to present it as if it’s already developed but finding it hard. Will most likely use the whole 5 minutes too.

After presentations i must fix this lightwindow thing, probably conflicting css.

Indeedy just checked my marks and i guess you could say it was well worth the wait. I did amazingly better than i had really anticipated so i feel kind of relieved knowing i’m doing some stuff right and the fact that i am doing well in this and still passing maths makes me feel even better (bio is another matter). Woohoo!

ok enough of the self praise, i am also happy to announce that i have managed to create my imagemap for minisite 3. I think it’s pretty cool since as you rollover the brain pic different sections light up with info about the links you can click to. It took me the better part of a day but well worth it. Thanks Kristina for the tutorial, gotta love that beatles picture.

 Also i have created 3 themed headers for the 3 different applications within the “Wave” program (music, text and games). But since they use colour i’m not too sure i they will fit in with the rest of the website design. And i don’t really want to change the web theme as the colour used was meant to be fairl neutral and sorta science as the program is fairly scientific even if it has some fun advantages.

Also kevin gave me the idea of maybe when people click on the image map, instead of being directed to the site with the nav bar, a box could open ontop of the image map with the info and then you could easily close it and click for another section (much like a light window/box). I don’t mind this idea except it would limit the amount of information i could depict on a page and would mean if i wanted to include alot of info i would need to have scrolling, and i;m not a big fan of the scroll bar.

ALSO i need to fix the scaling of my site. I don’t know why when i scale it it overlaps the nav bar. But since minisite 2 doesn’t do that i could probably figure it out.

The more in time the tapping the more points, this is relatively easy as it’s just tapping. Maybe he could us the tilt ability of the iphone as well. Like on certain bits you have to tap and shake the phone at the same time. There is a database where you download music and use your own music. There is a forum where you upload files and get user rating.

Stress relief screensaver. I like the way the character rolls around when you move the iphone, reminds me of the animator vs animation flzsh video. I think it shouldn’t be that easy to kill of the character, because that would end the fun a bit early.

Easy Cook- Trent
Excelletn idea when you have very little ingredients to work with. The iphone could amybe read the recipe to you instead of u having to scroll over it back and forth.

L’avenir- Florence
Hologram idea has been scrapped.

Universal remote, good for elderly and paraplegics but the technology seems very expensive. 

ok, so i know i said i’d do my website, but i realised that it’s not even due on friday. This whole week i was thinking it was due, and because i went to this nerd convention i never got round to re writing the code. luckily Julia told me i had my dates mixed up. So not only am ni presenting next week, i am also submitting my site. But you will be glad to know i have started writing some content to help make the website more believable.

I;m also currently working on my frontpage where it will have a pic of the brain and when scrolled over it lights up and is a link to diff sections of my site. It seems kind of ambitious at the moment but i am slowly getting there.
